River grades and progression

Grades help describe the water, but suitability depends on the paddler, group, river level, weather, equipment, and leader judgement.

Safety

Qualified leaders, safety training and first aid

KCC has multiple Paddle UK qualified or recognised white water leaders involved in club activity.

Across the group we also have people trained in white water safety, advanced white water safety, and first aid.

Trips are planned around the right leader, group, water level, weather, and equipment for the day.
