On Sunday, 15th December, Knottingley Canoe Club took to the water for our annual Santa Paddle, bringing festive spirit to the River Ouse! Wearing plenty of Christmas jumpers and Santa hats, our paddlers made their way from Naburn Lock to York, spreading holiday cheer along the way.
With calm conditions and just a touch of winter chill, we set off from Naburn Lock in full festive gear. Paddling just under six miles, the group kept the Christmas spirit high, exchanging waves and smiles with passersby.
Upon reaching York, we made our way to The Kings Arms Pub, where we enjoyed a well-earned break with chips, garlic bread, and a mix of pints or hot chocolates depending on personal preference!
A huge shoutout to Frankie, who was full of festive cheer, making sure every passerby en route and in York got a dose of Christmas spirit! ๐
On our return journey, we were treated to a stunning sunset, painting the sky in shades of purple and orangeโa perfect way to end the day.
A massive thank you to everyone who joined in and made the Santa Paddle 2024 such a fantastic event. We canโt wait to do it all again next year!
Happy Paddling!
